Further encouraging my 2001: A Space Odyssey fixation, the second stage of The HAL Project has been launched. The site is an excellent Flash-up of the film’s design elements for the HAL-9000—down to the copious use of Futura—and includes sound clips as well.
I especially dug the screensaver that replicates HAL’s display screens. Check out the downloads (though in order to use the animated desktop, you have to be running some version of Windows Vista).
